Hands-On Preparation Week for Young Adults at Our Campus:
Get Ready for the Season with Us!
We invite you to join our campus team for 8 days of preparing and maintaining our education center to be ready for our start of the season and use this time to explore principles of community and trust-building, while we enjoy the wonderful springtime in the Alentejo.
Overview
We are excited to start our season with a group of young people, to work together and to use this time to get to know each other in different ways.
In the mornings, we’ll be doing practical work, including tasks such as:
- cleaning and preparing facilities from kitchen to dormitories that were asleep during the winter
- renovating parts of our infrastructure
- preparing meals for the group and getting to know vegan cooking
- gardening, regulating, and landscaping work around our buildings
- painting and beautification projects
- tackling many other details that make a place functional, beautiful, and welcoming
In the afternoons, we’ll come together for group activities, including trust-building exercises and introductions to Tamera’s principles. You’ll participate in sharing circles and presentations about our work and values. Plus, there’s room for spontaneous, emerging experiences as we journey together.
Springtime in this region invites us to enjoy nature, so we’ll be exploring Tamera’s surroundings on a small hike over the weekend.
Who is the preparation time for?
- young people aged between 18–30
- people interested in community-building
Our guest center is part of an emerging Healing Biotope, where we work to reconnect and restore life’s wholeness. Though courses focus on specific topics, our research is woven into a larger, interconnected framework, and you’ll likely find your learning expands into new areas.
You can join our morning offerings, which may include activities like yoga and different forms of bodywork. You’ll also be able to participate in whole community events, such as our Sunday matinee, the Ring of Power, and Political Cafes.
By participating in this hands-on preparation week, you’ll not only engage in physical tasks but also build connections with young people from various backgrounds and get a taste of life in the community.
